'Unloved' by Ekong-Uduak Abasi a.k.a Empress

This is the second poem she is submitting for Hyrish blog, if you missed the first one go here. The title of this one is 'Unloved' and it's a very interesting piece. The poem below:

You may have big eyes or a big nose
Or spots or moles on your face
Or birthmarks in odd places
Or roughly hairy skin

You may not be the smartest
Some people might call you dumb
Some people can call you ugly
Some people might make you sad

You might sometimes wonder
If despite all these flaws
You'll ever truly be loved
By anyone but yourself

But you should realise
Your parents love you enough
They've been catering for you since day one
God loves you
Even when others seem to fail to
I love you
That's why I wrote this poem for you

And I do hope
That whenever you feel down or unloved
You'll open to this page
And read this poem

And remember that
Despite your flaws
Despite your imperfections
Despite your shortcomings
You're not unloved.

Nice one Empress!!!
